Hilary Barngrove McQuilkin
Hilary Barngrove McQuilkin began her radio career at Bowdoin College where she hosted a reggae show. In 2001 she worked as a morning show producer at WGAN in Portland, Maine. She then sidestepped into freelance reporting for the Maine Public Broadcasting Network.
In 2005, Hilary relocated to Boston and began filing freelance stories for New Hampshire Public Radio. Her radio features have also aired on National Public Radio and Voice of America.
Late at night and on the weekends, Hilary likes to consider herself
a writer. Her first published short story can be found in
the small, somewhat obscure, literary journal, Crosscut.
A native
of Pasadena, California, Hilary has reluctantly learned to
endure New England winters. She lives in Boston with her husband and their
large dog, Mink
